“The Spirit Tree at Toomer’s Corner” was written to remember the beloved Auburn Oaks at Toomer’s Corner and a tradition and a “Spirit that will live on forever”! The authors began writing “Part 1” in 2010 after the oaks were poisoned. As Auburn alumnae, the authors shared a love for the landscape of Toomer’s Corner. This book was created to remember the beloved Auburn Oaks and the tradition dear to it’s fans hearts at Auburn University. After game day wins, fans adore the tree by wrapping him in toilet paper, showing him their true admiration for the memories he has given them. Fans of all ages will be touched by this timeless tale of a school’s spirit and a magical tradition! >
“The Spirit Tree at Toomer’s Corner 2: The Rebirth” celebrates the legacy of the new trees at Toomer’s Corner and the greatest tradition at Auburn University. Sadly, the oak trees there were removed in 2012, after the trees were poisoned. The authors felt it was of great importance to continue the story of the Auburn Oaks and Toomer’s corner by writing a “Part 2” to commemorate the new Auburn Oaks, planted on Valentine’s Day 2015.
